The 2023 model year edition of the Hyundai IONIQ 5 is witnessing a significant expansion in its range as well as in its towing capacity, which has become the major highlight of the current year lineup. The updates for the 2023 model year have increased the mileage range by 10 miles while the towing capacity has nearly doubled.
The 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 5 model series now also has a new feature of battery heating management, and other feature additions like battery preconditioning functionality, a seat belt reminder, and more as new standard equipment across all of its trim levels. Electric Range
Hyundai has already announced the updates for its 2023 model year edition of the IONIQ 5 series that will include a major increase in its electric range as well as in its towing capacity. The said EV model from Hyundai will now show a bump in its electric range with a new AWD system installed as an optional upgrade. With the AWD setup installed, the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV models will be able to cover a distance of 256 miles to 266 miles. As yet another effect of this power enhancement, the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 model will also be able to achieve a better rating in its fuel economy, raising the EPA rating by 3 MPGe from all drive speeds, including the city, highway, and combined.
The 2023 model year edition of the Hyundai IONIQ 5 models is known to have a higher towing capacity this year, which will amount to a maximum towing capacity of 2300 lbs. The said figure says that it is an increase of 650 lbs. from its earlier one.
Other Update Highlights
The updates for the 2023 model year edition of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 series will not end here. Sources say that for some specific trims, the year 2023 will bring in some interesting updates. The list of these updates will include the installation of Projector LED headlights as well as the inclusion of a full set of front LED accent lighting. Apart from these, the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV models will also be enabled with a new NFC (remote key) digital key feature that will be extended to the SEL and the Limited trim.

This new battery pack will be equipped with a preconditioning system that will heat the battery to enable a quick charging process during winter.
